Sketchwork: Gnarly, knobbly and whatnot
It's a continuation of monsters and I've gotten quite fond of them.
Drawing monsters is a chance for me to try doing different textures. With monsters, I can just slap them with whatever material cause monsters grow anywhere, no?
Anyway, this creature is a pineapple-shelled garlic-bodied teeth-baring monster - doesn't seem too friendly either.

Next is this one-eyed dog-nosed crater-laden creature.

I meant to make this guy a lot friendlier but the peeking fellow in his mouth just disturbs me. This is one of those sketches that turns out differently from what I had in mind when drawn on paper. I must add too, that I had a really hard time shading it. I couldn't figure out where to add the dark and light areas especially the cast shadows of the spiky-leg things.
This next sketch came from an old idea. I've thought about this candle-bearing character about three years ago but I couldn't exactly visualize how it should look like. It wasn't until now that I was able to come up with something.

Here's another tree-ish creature - turned out somewhat random with its tentacle-like branches.

And for the last sketch of the week, here's a King. I'm currently working (and struggling) on coloring it digitally. Hopefully I can get it done. I'll put up a post on my progress with it soon.
