Here's a painting of Alex and Maggie from one my absolute favorite episodes of Supergirl.

So I went with a realistic portrait of Alex and Maggie as opposed to a stylized version. My initial sketch was rather cartoon-y and it felt kinda off to me. I thought a realistic version would fit the theme better plus it was a chance for me to learn something about painting faces.

I spent so much time painting Maggie because I once again fell into my old habit of zooming in on things. This messed up my perception(?) a lot and I had to edit over and over again.

Painting Alex was a lot quicker and took less steps even. I should have realized earlier that I should zoom in just enough to work on some details and stay zoomed out a whole lot more.
